Paul is a passionate advocate for his clients who is recognized in the 2012 edition of Chambers USA as one of America’s leading lawyers. Paul’s practice focuses on civil litigation where he represents plaintiffs in a variety of areas. Notably, Paul protects the rights of athletes in sports litigation matters including Olympic eligibility, anti-doping, contract and intellectual property disputes. Last year, he successfully overturned a wrongful doping ban levied against an Egyptian athlete before the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland known globally as the “Supreme Court for Sports Law.”
Paul is a member of the Immigration Legal Advocacy Project, a group of Maine attorneys committed to protecting the rights of immigrants by providing pro bono representation in asylum matters. He teaches as an adjunct professor at the University of Maine School of Law and serves on the school’s Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Prior to launching his legal career, Paul was an award-winning sportscaster in Maine and at a network based in New York City. Paul lives in Falmouth with his wife, Julie, and their children, Ben and Anna, where he coaches youth soccer and baseball. A lifelong runner, who captained the Brandeis University Cross Country and Track teams during his college years, Paul has become a trail runner who finds solace in the serenity of the Maine woods.
