In closing arguments in U.S. District Court in Portland, Terry Garmey told jurors that Crown knew of 220 accidents of the type that killed Brown. Many, he said, resulted in serious injuries, including 10 deaths before Brown’s.
“Crown was on notice that this machine was a serial killer. Period,” he said. “For years they had a don’t-ask-don’t-tell policy for saving lives.”
