The abundance of scenic roadways across Maine makes it a great state for motorcyclists. A recent accident in Freeport claimed the life of a young motorcyclist. The accident occurred during the afternoon hours on Desert Road near Interstate 295. According to reports, a pickup truck pulling a boat trailer was exiting Interstate 295 and pulling onto Desert Road.
Police reports say the truck collided with a motorcyclist traveling northwest on Desert Road. The driver of the pickup truck did not see the motorcyclist. Reports indicate that the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries. The motorcyclist was rushed to a local hospital, where he tragically died, police said. The biker was only 24 years old.
