“Suit tests immunity of city, school in fatal air crash”

Maine’s highest court heard arguments Wednesday in a case that tests the state law protecting cities and public schools from liability lawsuits.

The Maine Supreme Judicial Court’s ruling, expected in the next few months, could have a major effect on the way local governments work with independent contractors such as bus companies and charter air services.
